By John Colanzi
Internet businesses are springing up daily. Many first
time entrepreneurs are lured by the ease with which a
business can be started online and the dream of fast
riches.
The world of online business has fulfilled the dreams of
many an entrepreneur, but for many more it's become the
"Boulevard Of Broken Dreams."
Why is that?
Why have the dreams of so many new business owners
become nightmares, while others seem to strive
effortlessly?
That question haunted me for years. I would make a
couple of dollars and then hit a brick wall.
What was I doing wrong?
I finally realized, it wasn't what I was doing. It was
what I wasn't doing.
There are three key factors necessary to succeed in
business online or off. I call them the "three pillars
of business success."
Once I started paying attention to the "three pillars"
sales came easier and running my online venture became
less stressful.
Successful entrepreneurs follow these three rules.
Some do it consciously, others do it naturally.
So what are the three pillars of business success?
1. Knowledge
Your starting point on the road to success is knowledge.
You have to begin a study program. You must learn as
much as you can about your product or service.
You also have to begin a never ending study of how to
market and promote your product.
You have to learn in order to earn. As your knowledge
increases, so will your confidence.
2. War Chest
The second pillar is to evaluate your war chest.
How much money do you have to invest in your business?
Don't use money you need for maintaining your lifestyle.
Use money you won't miss.
Once you start dipping into money you need for everyday
expenses, the fear of loss will color your decisions.
Scared money never wins!
What if you don't have money you can afford to lose?
You have to spend your time.
Periodically evaluate your war chest and decide whether
to spend your money or your time.
3. Marketing Plan
The third pillar is your marketing plan. You have to
develop a systematic plan of marketing and promoting
your business.
Your marketing plan will be determined by your knowledge
and capital.
Having a system will take the guess work out of
building your business.
You won't have to agonize over every decision.
You'll be able to "pull the trigger."
Your marketing plan is your road map to success.
Build you knowledge base, evaluate your capital and
develop your marketing plan.
You've been given the "Keys." Its up to you whether or
not you use them.

The Shoemaker And The Elves
by John Colanzi
Remember the story of the Shoemaker and The Elves?
The shoemaker would go to sleep and the elves would
finish any shoes he hadn't gotten around to.
Our minds function in much the same way.
Our conscious, logical mind is the shoemaker. Our
subconscious is the elves.
Give your conscious mind a goal, gather all the facts
and let the elves do their work.
Many of our greatest inventions and discoveries have
come after the scientist or researcher had given up and
the elves took over.
The structure of DNA had baffled researchers for years.
Finally, the double helix was revealed in a dream about
intertwined snakes.
Around four years ago, I gave my little friends the task
of providing me with an ezine article a week.
I gathered the ideas and they wrote the articles.
They've written around 100 articles.
It makes my life so easy.
They do the work.
I get the credit.
When I sit down at the keyboard, the articles write
themselves.
The next time you're stumped for an answer, gather the
facts and move out of the way. The elves will be more
than happy to do the work.
They're tireless.

Marketing From The Inside Out
by John Colanzi
The "Magic Bullet" seems to be what so many marketers are
looking for. They want a secret technique or method to
guarantee their success.
I'll let you in on a secret. They're looking in the wrong
direction.
True success and prosperity start on the inside. It comes
from within yourself, not from some magical technique or
method.
There are no sure fire tools. There is no guaranteed
m.oney making program. There is only your patience,
persistence and most of all your mind set.
Lasting success begins in your head and radiates from your
inner core.
Once you've developed an attitude of abundance, no one
can take it from you.
You'll see opportunity at every turn. You'll realize that
setbacks are really lessons to be learned on the road to
freedom.
Once you know with all your being that you can succeed,
you'll realize that your success depends on you.
There are no gurus to blame.
There are no programs to blame.
There are no methods to blame.
The buck stops with you.
You are the master of your fate.
You determine what works for you.
Don't give away that power.
Learn everything you can about your business and how to
promote it, but make the final decision on how to
succeed yours.
Realize that every step you make along the road to
f.inancial freedom is profitable either in terms of money
earned or experience learned.
If you take two steps forward and one step back, you're
still further along than if you did nothing.
Get your head right and success will come.
Stop looking outside yourself for success. Start marketing
from the inside out.

How And Why To Build Your Downline Wide Fast - Part 2
by John Colanzi
I hope you've got all your "why to's" in place.
Reading them will help keep you focused on your goal.
They'll help keep you on course when the going gets a
little bumpy.
Now it's time to put together your battle plan.
Your goal when developing your battle plan is to put
together a well oiled system that will work on auto -
pilot.
The time you spend putting your system in place will
save you time and energy down the line. It will also
help you get a jump-start on building your downline
wide, fast.
The goal of your system is to capture email addresses
to allow you to follow up on all your prospects.
You want to cast your net wide. Don't use a fishing
pole, use a wide net and get as many addresses as
possible.
The weapons you'll need in preparing your battle plan
are a method for attracting leads and an autoresponder
to follow up on all your leads.
Most of the better autoresponders have an email capture
form you can place on your website.
You'll build wide faster if you send your leads to
an email capture form rather than have them go directly
to a sales page.
You have to woo you prospects the same way you'd court
a new date. Some will respond on the first visit and
some will need a little more courting.
Your autoresponder will do the courting for you.
Depending on your program, your autoresponder should
be loaded with at least seven follow up messages.
Each message should be designed to move your prospect
closer to closing the deal.
Once you've got your email capture form up and your
autoresponder in place, it's time to start casting
your net.
There are many methods for gathering leads, but I
prefer the shoestring methods that kick in fast.
I only use a handful of methods for promotion. I'm
sure there are many others that work well, but I
like to stick with the date that came to the dance
with me.
1. My newsletter
Having your own newsletter can be the best tool in
your arsenal. Gear your content to the individuals
who want, need and desire what you have to offer.
Be honest with them in your dealings and you'll not
only build your business, you'll find a lot of new
friends along the way.
2. Ezine writing
Ezine writing is the core of everything I do.
What is ezine writing?
It's writing and submitting articles to the online
newsletters. Most weeks I have more people reading
my articles than I could ever hope to reach in my
own ezine.
At the end of each article is my resource box that
leads back to my email capture system.
3. My signature file
A signature file is that little tag under your name.
You should have a signature file at the end of all
your outgoing email.
If you answer a lot of emails, that can add up to a
lot of free advertising.
4. Ezine advertising
I don't use this method as much as the other methods,
but if you want to get your message out fast, placing
ads is an excellent low cost method.
Make sure you target your ads to the right markets.
Your goal is to target the right market and to only
use quality zines.
Before you start placing ezine ads, make sure you
subscribe to the ezines and read a few issues. If
possible read some of their archives.
Your goal is to find ezines that have the right blend
of content to ads. You don't want your ad buried.
You also don't want to compete with other marketers
advertising the same offer.
Once you've got the ezines picked out for your ad
campaign your best results will come from top sponsor
ads and solo ads.
To jump start your downline it's better to advertise
in less ezines with good ad placement, than it is to
blast out your ad and have poor ad placement.
There are a few other methods I use, but these are the
simplest and the most cost effective.
Put your system in place and let it do its work.
Once you've got your system in place, you can modify
it to fit any offer.
Build wide fast and you'll be smiling on the way to the
bank.

How And Why To Build Your Downline Wide Fast - Part I
by John Colanzi
One of the secrets to making money with network
marketing programs, or two tier affiliate programs, is
to build wide fast.
Before I tell you how I do it, I want to tell you why.
"How" is the mechanical, but "why" is the reason.
"Why" is your motivating factor. It's what causes you
to take action.
So why is building wide fast so important?
1. It keeps you motivated.
No matter how excited you may be at starting a new
program, it doesn't take long for the excitement to
wear off and the doubts to creep in.
This is especially important on the Internet. Online
marketers have come to expect results overnight.
Many have developed shorter attention spans. If you
doubt that, look at how quickly visitors leave a slow
loading web page.
That's also the reason for so many impulse buying
decisions. Once we get used to the Internet, we want
everything yesterday.
2. People go where people go.
That's true online or off. Once a place gets known for
heavy traffic, the traffic gets even heavier.
Word spreads fast about a heavy traffic site. Some
visitors will want to see what's so good that others
are flocking to get there.
Others will want to see how it's being done. They want
to find out how they can duplicate it.
3. You can expand faster.
Your war chest will grow faster, which means you can
roll out your marketing campaign at an accelerated
rate.
Your program begins feeding its own growth. If you
take 50% of your profits and put it back into
promoting your program, it can't help but double.
Imagine that every time you launch a campaign your
program doubled.
The more you make, the faster you'll grow.
4. You'll dig out your diamonds faster.
No matter what program you're promoting, only a handful
of your affiliates or downline members will be active
marketers.
The more members you recruit, the odds increase that
you'll dig out a few diamonds. Once you've grabbed a
few of those, there is no telling how fast you can grow.
5. Geometric Growth will kick in.
This is especially true in network marketing. The key
to building a large downline and making real money is
the power of geometric progression.
Instead of growing one member at a time your growth
is geometric.
2 x 2 = 4
4 x 4 = 16
16 x 16 =256
If you don't think it can happen like that, think
again.
How do you think those network marketers that say
they've built a downline of thousands did it?
Do you think they recruited everyone themselves?
Think again.
They jump started their downline by going wide fast,
but once they hit a certain level, geometric
progression kicked in.
Geometic progression plus the help of the diamonds they
recruited built their downline.
Now you know why to build wide fast. In part two we'll
talk about how to build wide fast.

How To Always Win
by John Colanzi
Good old Archimedes said it best, "Give me a place to
stand and I'll move the Earth".
Powerful statement.
He was talking about the lever, but there are all types
of levers.
We live in a society that's lost sight of how everything
is connected. We look at the trunk and mistake it for
the elephant.
But if we just open our mind's eye and look at our world
with a more open view, we can see how "Give me a place
to stand", relates to succeeding at every endeavor we
put our hands to.
Want to leave the rat race and succeed in your own
business?
Find a place to stand.
Pick your vehicle.
I see marketers struggling over
* What really sells online?
* What is the best product to promote?
Forget about it.
1. Pick your place to stand.
2. Plant your feet.
3. Take your lever and move the Earth.
Your place to stand is any product or service that
fits you. Stop wasting your time on the internal
debate.
Are you ready to assure your success?
If you answered yes, here goes.
1. Find a product or service that excites you, gets
your adrenaline pumping and makes your blood flow.
2. Make a decision.
The difference between winning and losing can be seen
in how you make decisions.
Those that succeed reach decisions promptly and stick
with them come hello there or high water.
Those who never succeed reach decisions slowly. They
run for the hills the first time they have a set back.
3. Plant your feet and keep plugging until you've
reached your goal.
It's that simple, but simple doesn't make it easy.
You can succeed at anything.
I know you can.

The Awesome Power Of Viral Marketing
by John Colanzi
I'm sure you know about the value of viral marketing.
I thought I did too.
I knew it, but I never really understood the true power
of viral marketing.
It's awesome.
I remember when I was growing up along a canal. We'd
go out by the water and throw stones. As the stone
would hit the water it would cause a ripple to go from
one bank to the next.
Viral marketing is similar to that. Every time you send
out an article, ebook or piece of software a ripple
effect begins.
Your name and links begin to spread across the net and
across the globe.
What makes this so awesome?
There is no bank on the other side to stop your message
from spreading.
Every time you set a viral product into action, the
effect multiplies. It's incredible, the effect is
cumulative.
You start out creating small ripples. Eventually,
through patience and persistent, they become waves.
Stick to your plan long enough and you've created a
virtual Tidal Wave.
There is truly no limit to how far your message can
spread.
Don't just read this message and nod your head. Take
time to let the concept sink in.
In the beginning it may feel like you're pushing a rock
up hill. Once you apply viral marketing, you'll find it
gets so much easier when the rock begins rolling down
the other side.
Start using viral marketing and unleash the true power
of the Internet.

How To Keep Pace With The Rapidly Changing Internet
by John Colanzi
The noose keeps tightening on publishers and email
marketers. We're caught between the "Slim Shadys" who
believe that if you have email, you're fair prey and
the powers that be who feel that we're just collateral
damage in their war with "Slim Shady."
The rules are changing so fast it makes my head spin.
So what can I do?
Gather all my friends so we can suck our thumbs and
have a pity party, or get over it.
Well the party's over and it's time to learn the rules
and play by them or move to another playing field.
I've decided to shift playing fields. I'm just getting
too old to start crawling on my knees and begging them
to let me survive.
So what am I going to do?
I'm going to concentrate on viral marketing.
So what is viral marketing?
It's when other marketers voluntarily help you spread
your links.
I already use ezine writing which is still a powerful
viral marketing tool, but now it's not enough.
If ezines are reaching less readers, that means articles
are being seen less.
The best way to compensate is to hop on the information
virus.
So how can you hop on the idea train?
Start creating fr** and fee eBooks that are brandable.
Start unleashing these little salesmen and get your
name out there.
Why brandable? Because by allowing others to brand
your salesmen, they have an incentive to help you
spread the word.
It's the old adage at play, the best way to get what
you want, is to help others get what they want.
Forget the pity party and adapt. Hop on board the
idea express and you'll keep on track.
Things change, and so do survivors.

Ben Franklin's Secrets For Success
by John Colanzi
Are you overwhelmed by all the advice on the Internet
about running a successful small business?
The sheer volume of information is overwhelming and
often the "experts" disagree.
Every so often my business will experience a slow down.
This week was one of those weeks. I could easily blame
the holiday or the normal summer vacation period, but
that wouldn't solve my problem.
I needed to step back and rethink my business plan.
The response for most online business owners is to pick
their favorite "guru" or "gurus" and start studying
their advice.
That works well for a lot of marketers, but sometimes I
like to think outside the box. There are some time
tested ideas that are universal and will work if applied
to any situation.
I studied Ben Franklin's simple system for self-
improvement. The system may be simple to develop, but
that doesn't mean it's easy to follow.
In his autobiography Franklin talks about his need to
constantly monitor himself. Old habits are hard to break.
Although Franklin used this system to reshape his
personality, it can just as easily be applied to
improving your skills as an online entrepreneur.
If you're looking for a quick fix, this isn't for you.
Here's a step by step plan for becoming a more
successful entrepreneur.
1. The first step is to pick the 13 areas of your
skills that need the most work.
Step back and take a look at your business and find 13
skills that would improve your performance.
2. Put the 13 skills you've listed in order of
importance.
Label them from 1 to 13.
3. Decide to spend one week working on each skill. Spend
time every day for a week working on improving one area
of your business.
For example if you chose writing better ads as an area
needing improvement, spend a week working on your ad
writing skills.
4. After you've spent a week working on your number
problem, move to problem number 2.
5. After 13 weeks go back and work on number one again.
Follow through on each skill for another 13 weeks.
6. By the end of one year you've spent four weeks
improving each roadblock to your success.
At the end of a year re-evaluate your business and
determine which skills still need to be worked on and
which ones you've mastered.
I know this seems like a lot of work. It's taking time
away from making your first million.
Well I have to let you in on a little secret. Making a
go of your online business isn't easy and if you're not
willing to work at it, you'll spend your time asking:
Is anyone really making money online?
Well there are small businesses making money online, but
they've done their homework and honed their skills.
If you're truly serious about making money on the Internet,
this plan is as good a place to start as any.
Don't rely on luck. You'll find the harder you work, the
luckier you'll get.

A Billionaires Guide To Getting Rich
by John Colanzi
The sage Zenrin once said "If you wish to know the road up
the mountain, ask the person who goes back and forth on
it."
Sound advice, but are you following it?
If you're like most people, probably not. So who's advice
do you listen to?
** Your next door neighbor
** Your barber or hairdresser
** Your mechanic
The list is endless. You get excited about starting your
own business and the doom and gloom crowd takes pleasure
in stomping on your dreams.
Before you listen to them, ask yourself one question. Have
they been where you want to go?
Probably not.
So who's advice should you listen to? The men and women
who've traveled the mountain.
One man who travelled the mountain and amassed a fortune in
the process, was J. Paul Getty.
In his autobiography Getty lists rules for creating wealth.
What do you think was Mr. Getty's number one rule for
getting rich?
You must have your own business. He didn't say get a good
job.
The same skills you use to make money for your boss, could
be better applied to creating wealth for you.
There's an old cartoon that brings the point home even
clearer.
A father is asking his son, "Wow, wouldn't you love to be
a football player and make all that money?"
The little boy smiles and says, "Daddy, I'd rather be the
guy that can afford to pay the whole team."
The next time you're excited, keep your own council and
remember the words of Ben Franklin.
"Keep Thy Shop and Thy Shop Will Keep Thee."
Dare to dream. Be your own b.oss.

Where's Your Hook?
by John Colanzi
Have you ever gotten up in the morning and had a song
playing in your head? It's seldom the whole song, it's
usually a catchy line or two from a song.
As the day goes on the song follows you wherever you
go. You just can't shake that darned tune.
Well in the music business, that catchy line is the
hook. It's designed to grab your attention and keep it.
The hook sells songs. It not only sells them, it's
what marketers would call sticky.
The record industry is big business. If the hook is so
widely used to pump up their sales, maybe you should
be using it in your business.
When writing your sales letters, online web pages and
any other sales material, make sure you have a hook.
Marketers have many names for the various hooks they
use. They throw around phrases like magnetic, hypnotic
etc.
You don't want your sales letters and ads just skimmed
over, you want them to stick in the readers mind like
glue.
You want to pull out your hook and attach it to their
emotions.
Why their emotions?
Because sales aren't made logically and rationally,
they are made emotionally.
Hook their emotions.
Make them see beyond where they are. Make them see
their new and improved future.
Help them unleash their imaginations. Inspire them to
visualize their healthier, wealthier and happier future.
Whip out the hook and make your message sizzle.
In the words of Elmer Wheeler, "Sell the sizzle, not
the steak."
Start using the hook and the next song you sing, will
be on the way to the bank.

Confessions of a Dumb Monkey
by John Colanzi
Sometimes I'm so dumb it amazes me. I know that I
should never fall in love with a program and I should
never get complacent with how I market.
I guess that makes me a dumb monkey.
So what do I mean by that?
There are some countries where monkeys are a delicacy.
More specifically their brains.
One of the methods they use to capture the monkeys is
to take a large jar and place a nut or fruit in the
bottom. Anything that the monkey likes to eat.
The top of the jar is just big enough for the monkeys
open hand to reach in and just heavy enough that the
monkey can't run with it.
When the monkey reaches in and grabs his little goody,
he finds he can't get his hand out. No matter how
hard he struggles, he can't pull his hand out.
Now this dumb monkey doesn't realize, that if he
let go of the prize he's clutching in his hand, he
could easily get his hand back out.
The same thing happens to online marketers. They find
a product or service and fall in love with it. They
promote it to the high heavens.
But no matter how much they promote, they can't seem
to make a sale. Just like that monkey that won't
drop the nut, they just keep pouring good money after
bad and refuse to let go.
The same thing happens with their marketing methods.
They fall into the trap of using an advertising
technique or marketing method that doesn't bring any
results.
It doesn't matter how bad the results are they just
keep throwing more money into the pot, hoping this
time it will work.
Man alive, they've become just as trapped as that little
monkey. They don't know when to let go. They've fallen
in love and keep spending money like a drunken sailor
on shore leave.
Do yourself a favor, don't be a dumb monkey.
If a marketing method isn't working, let it go and find
something that does.
If a product or service doesn't sell, let it go and
find something that will.
Smart investors know that secret. Many times the only
difference between a successful investor and a losing
investor is, the successful investor knows when to cut
his losses.
Your business can be the best investment you ever make,
but like any investment, you have to know when to
pyramid your profits and even more importantly when to
cut your losses.
Learn that lesson and you're on your way to success.

All Roads Lead to ROME
All Roads Lead to Rome
by John Colanzi
In the ancient world, long before telephones, computers
and other modern methods of doing business, Rome was a
hub of commerce.
The merchants of the day had a saying, "All roads lead to
Rome."
Luckily with our modern tools and equipment we no longer
have such limitations.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. The
ancient Appian Way, has been replaced by the "Information
Super Highway."
Just as the ancient merchants and traders had a hub of
commerce, you should have a central hub for directing your
traffic.
It took me a long time to figure that out and it's taken
me even longer to implement that strategy.
If you're serious about your success, all roads on the
"Information Super Highway," should lead to your list.
It's no secret that the marketers making the biggest
profits, have the biggest targeted lists.
Please take note; I didn't say a big list, I said a big
targeted list.
When you sit down to map out your marketing strategy,
your goal is to identify your target audience and put 90%
of your efforts into building your list.
* Every page on your website should have a link to your
list.
* Every ebook you give away should have a link to your
list.
* Every email course you offer should have a link to your
list.
* Every article you write should have a link to your list.
All roads no longer lead to Rome, they should lead to your
list.
Build your targeted list and your success is guaranteed.

Why is Habit Ten Times Nature?
by John Colanzi
If you've read the works of Napoleon Hill, you know that
after an interview with Andrew Carnegie, he set out a quest
for the Holy Grail of success.
Mr. Hill spent thirty years interviewing the leaders in
every field. From politicians to great inventors.
His goal was to scientifically analyze the traits of the
greatest achievers of his time.
As result of his study he wrote two classic self-help books
"The Laws Of Success" and "Think And Grow Rich."
Mr. Hill's works are credited with creating more
millionaires and helping more people achieve success in
their chosen vocations than any other author.
That's the story anyone who has read his writings already
knows.
But guess what?
That's not where the story ends.
Napoleon wasn't satisfied with his accomplishments and
acclaim. There was still one nagging question.
Even though so many were helped by his writings, why were
there others who never reached their potential, even after
reading his masterpieces?
What was the missing ingredient?
What was the key?
Mr. Hill spent another 30 years searching for the Key that
would help bridge the gap between those who were helped and
those that never reached their true potential.
What was the missing ingredient?
Mr. Hill called it Cosmic Habit Force.
Habit is the 18th Law Of Success.
We've come to associate habits with negatives, but the
truth is, positive habits are the most powerful ally on
your road to success.
We all know what the Laws Of Success are, but we've never
taken the time to make them a part of our daily lives.
Our actions are governed by the habits we've practiced
throughout our lives.
In the words of the Duke of Wellington, "Habit is ten
times nature."

Are You In Control Of Your Mind?
by John Colanzi
It's really upsetting that so many individuals are
filled with self doubt.
What's even more upsetting is that their doubts are
caused by those close to them.
Are you letting them influence your decisions?
You have a new idea, or you're ready to make positive
changes in your life and the doom and gloom crowd feels
they have to protect you from yourself.
It's even worse when it's those closest to you.
* You Friends
* Your Relatives
* Your Parents
* Your Spouse
Their are opinions hard to ignore, because they
sincerely think they're helping you.
You're bubbling with enthusiasm over a new venture, or
your new program for self improvement.
You're so excited you have to share the news with your
friends and family.
That's your first mistake.
The negatives start chipping away at your resolve.
"Don't be foolish, don't you realize how bad the economy
is?"
"Are you serious? You know all those self - improvement
programs are a scam."
For every positive thought you have, they've have a
counter thought.
They love you too much to allow you to fill your head
with such foolishness.
So how can you take control of your mind and avoid
having them rain on your parade?
The first step is to keep your own council. Keep your
plans to yourself.
They'll notice the positive changes soon enough.
Your second step is to get out your shovel and bury the
doom and gloom.
Become a "good news" merchant starting now.
You're being pounded with the message that this is the
worst economy in history.
BULL!!!
There have been better economies and there have been
worse.
The economy doesn't control your success.
The president doesn't control your success.
Remember, you control your success or failure.
Start acting like those little monkeys.
* See no evil
* Hear no evil
* Speak no evil
Your third step is to spend less time with the doom and
gloom crowd. Spend more time with those who are doing
what you want to do and going where you want to go.
Start modeling yourself after the successful.
Start reading the autobiographies of the most successful
individuals past and present.
You'll find that they all have common traits.
Fill your mind with good news and successful images.
Grab a notebook or some 3 x 5 cards and post some
positive quotes to feed your head every day.
We are bombarded 24 ... 7 ... 365 with can't, impossible
and so many other negatives. We absorb them without
even realizing what's happening.
James Allen, in "As A Man Thinketh," compares the task
of controlling your mind to that of a master gardener.
You have to grab the negative weeds by their roots and
rip them out. Start planting positive thoughts in their
place and watch your garden flourish.
Take control of your mind and you've taken the first
step on your road to success.
Bullet - proof your mind.
The choice is yours.
Your future hangs in the balance.

* You Friends
* Your Relatives
* Your Parents
* Your Spouse
* See no evil
* Hear no evil
* Speak no evil

Seven (7) Secrets To Positive Thinking
7 Secrets To High Performance Thinking
by John Colanzi
Our minds are like high performance race engines. They
have the ability to take us anywhere we want to go at
amazing speed.
But sadly most of us haven't done the necessary
maintenance and tune ups to enable our minds to
operate efficiently.
There are three reasons this can happen.
1. Laziness. Some of us know what to do, but we're
either too lazy or lack the discipline to do what's
necessary to keep our minds at peak efficiency.
2. We don't believe in our potential or the awesome
power of our minds.
3. We don't know the 7 Secrets Of High Performance
Thinking.
In this report I'm revealing the 7 Secrets Of High
Performance Thinking. I'm taking away any excuses you
have for not Thinking Like A Winner.
As you start putting the 7 secrets to work for you,
you'll notice the effects are geometric.
Each technique will be multiply the effectiveness of
the others.
Once you've started using all seven you'll be amazed
at how powerful your mind can be.
No realistic goal will be beyond your grasp.
So what are the 7 Secrets Of High Performance Thinkers?
Secret Number 1 Relaxation
High Performance Thinkers have learned to use the
power of Relaxation.
They know that stress impairs their ability to perform
and that it's better to take a break when they are
feeling fatigued or frustrated.
If you'd like to perform at your optimum levels,
schedule daily periods of relaxation exercises.
You can meditate or listen to soothing music or tapes.
If you're always at the computer like I am, you can
take a short jog, or do some exercise.
In essence you should do the opposite of what your
daily tasks are.
If you're a laborer you would relax by finding
something that stimulates your mind.
If your daily routine involves a lot of thinking or
sitting at a desk, break up your day with some
physical exercise.
Once you've learned to harness the power of
relaxation, you'll find reaching your goal so much
easier.
Make relaxation a part of your daily routine.
Secret Number 2 Visualization
Any task we attempt is easier if we are relaxed,
especially mental conditioning.
Visualization is a powerful tool when combined with
relaxation.
Many individuals say they are unable to visualize or
create pictures in their minds.
That's not really true.
They visualize, but because they haven't practiced
controlling their mental pictures, they see what they
want to avoid rather than what they want to accomplish.
Your mind absorbs what you input and that's why so
many of your fears come true.
You can either control your mental pictures or they
will control you.
You will be drawn to any picture you hold long enough
in your minds eye.
If you want to become prosperous and successful, you
must take control of the movies you play in your mind.
The first step is to make visualizing your more
successful, prosperous self a daily habit.
When you first begin to practice seeing yourself in a
new light, your rational mind will rebel and the
doubts will creep in.
You'll only be able to hold your mental pictures for
short periods of time.
As your practice continues you will be able to hold
the pictures for longer periods of time and you'll be
able to view them in greater detail.
If you're wondering if it's worth the effort, I'd like
to give you an example of how powerful visualization
is.
When Ali was preparing for his fight against Foreman,
the "experts" gave him little chance of winning.
Foreman was younger, bigger, stronger and hit like a
mule.
So what did Ali do?
He went to his training camp and avoided reading all
negative stories about his impending defeat.
He not only began physically training for the fight,
he began mentally rehearsing his reactions to being
hit by Foreman.
Ali knew that there was a possibility of being knocked
unconscious during the fight, but how would he handle
it?
He began mentally training his body to wrap his arms
around Foreman and clinch as soon as he felt himself
begin to lose consciousness.
The night of the fight his mental training paid off.
In Ali's own words he admitted there were times in
that fight when he was literally out on his feet.
The only thing that saved him from defeat was his
visualization exercises.
Each time he was hit hard enough to be knocked
unconscious, his body took over and held onto Foreman
long enough for Ali to regain his senses.
That night history was made, through the power of
Visualization.
Are you ready to make history?
Secret Number 3 Self Talk
So far we've discussed relaxation and visualization.
Now we're going to talk about autosuggestion (Self
talk).
Autosuggestion is the simplest of the 7 secrets.
It's also my favorite.
It's simply talking to yourself. You pick a habit or
quality you wish to acquire and repeat it to yourself
over and over.
It's my favorite technique, because it literally
changed my life.
Don't shrug it off.
It may appear simple, but it's oh so powerful.
I was in my late 40's, my business had gone bust and
my health was shot.
I saw no way out.
I just knew the odds were against my ever getting out
of the situation I found myself in.
Broke, the clock ticking and unable to work.
Well as the song says, if you ain't got nothin, you
ain't got nothin to lose.
Since I had nothing to lose, I started using
autosuggestion.
I admit it. I talked to myself.
Luckily I was alone when I did it, or I'm sure they'd
have thrown the old net over me.
I wasn't even sure it would work, but I did it anyway.
It was nothing fancy, just two sentences I repeated,
day in and day out.
The first sentence was, "I am a lot more creative than
I ever imagined."
The second was, "I have an unlimited number of
creative ideas in my subconscious."
So what happened?
At 50 years old I've been given a second chance.
I've gone from throwing in the towel and preparing to
lead what Walden called a life of quiet desperation,
to making my living as a writer.
I can work from anywhere.
I make money doing something I love.
If autosuggestion isn't powerful, I don't know what is.
It's changed my life.
Secret Number 4 Goal Setting
Goal setting is actually an extension of our survival
mechanism.
All living things have survival mechanism. From the
tree, whose leaves turn toward the sky before a rain
to the birds who, fly to warmer climates during the
winter.
But as men and women we have an advantage. Plants,
animals and insects have no control over the direction
their lives take.
It's preset for the survival of their species. We on
the other hand have the ability to take part in the
shaping of our destinies. We can choose our path.
Our ability to think of the future and set goals gives
us the ability to be the captains of our fates and the
shapers of our destiny. Sadly most of us tend to shrug
off the power of setting goals and our lives end up
being tossed to and fro like a ship in a storm.
Our high powered minds are programmed to help us
achieve success, but we give it no direction. We ride
around with this high performance engine between our
ears, and never take off the emergency brake.
If you truly want to become a high performance
thinker, you should set goals that get you excited.
Your goals should be big enough to motivate you, while
still being believable.
Don't mistake daydreams for goals.
Don't mistake what will make others happy, for a goal
that will get you excited.
It has to be your goal.
Start setting believable, achievable goals. Set a time
limit on accomplishing your goals and set higher goals
each time an old goal has been achieved.
Set up a reward system for achieving your goals on
time.
Make reaching your goals a game, a treasure hunt.
If you've got time to root for your favorite sports
team, you have time to start rooting for you.
Setting and achieving your goals is the real Super
Bowl.
Make yourself the MVP of your life.
Secret Number 5 Whole Brain Thinking
The fifth secret of high performance thinking is
learning to think with both sides of your brain. High
performance thinkers are whole-brained thinkers.
Most of us have one side of our brains dominant. If
the left side is dominant we tend to be more logical.
If our right side is more dominant we tend to be more
Intuitive.
A prime example would be what we label as women's
intuition. For some reason we find it more acceptable
for women to use their intuition and we expect men to
be more analytical.
The true high performance thinkers are as comfortable
setting down detailed plans for accomplishing their
goals as they are at thinking outside the box and
coming up with a new way of seeing and doing things.
The true skill is to be able to use either side at
will.
It's sad to see how many writers, artists and
inventors have historically ended up broke, when all
they would have needed was to use a little more of
their left brain logic.
At the other end of the spectrum, you can find many
businesses going under because they fall behind their
competitors who are willing to use their right brain
skills and intuit coming change.
To operate at maximum efficiency, you must learn to be
a balanced thinker.
You not only need to know how to use both sides of
your brain, you must know when to use your rational
analytical skills and when to be more intuitive.
You should develop your reasoning and research skills,
while allowing enough flexibility to follow your
hunches.
If you study many of our top executives you'd find
they have two major traits in common.
1. They are goal setters. (left brain)
2. They credit much of their success to following
their hunches. (right brain)
Bottom line.
They are whole brain thinkers.
Your brain is a marvelous creation. Don't waste either
half.
Use it all.
Become a whole brain thinker and you'll be ahead of
your competition.
Secret Number 6 Humor and Pleasure
The Taoist's have a saying, "The Journey is the
reward."
High performance thinkers exemplify that remark.
They pick their profession, not because of the money
they expect to make, but because of the joy it brings
them.
In the words of J. Paul Getty, they've learned to
thrive on the pressure.
They don't see what they do as do or die.
They've learned to laugh at themselves and try not to
take things too seriously.
What others may consider a problem, they consider a
challenge.
Their sense of humor and ability to enjoy their work
increases as their abilities increase.
Many times they spend long hours on a task not because
they feel a need to work hard, but because they have
so much fun at what they do.
When we find joy in doing what we love, time flies by
in the blink of an eye.
If you're ready to be a high performance thinker,
learn to laugh more.
Find work that gives you joy.
Stop looking at the task at hand as a struggle. View
it as a magnificent game.
To the high performance thinker, there is no line
between work and play. His work is his passion.
In the sports world it's called being in the zone.
High performance thinkers perform in the same manner.
* They are acting in the moment.
* They have no doubts.
* Time almost stands still.
* They are focused to the point that outside
influences are literally blocked out.
Stop trying so hard and start enjoying the process.
Secret Number 7 The Subconscious Mind
The first six secrets were the blocks building up to
the real secret behind high performance thinking.
High performance thinkers recognize the awesome power
of their subconscious mind.
* Relaxation
* Visualization
* Autosuggestion
* Goal Setting
* Whole-Brained Thinking
* Humor
All of the above are designed to help you unleash the
awesome power of your subconscious mind.
The subconscious has been called the sleeping giant.
It's like a big bear hibernating during the winter.
It's waiting for you to wake it so it can do its work.
All systems of mental conditioning from Silva Mind
Control and NLP to the mystical traditions such as
Yoga and the Martial Arts are designed to take us
beyond our cultural conditioning.
